The Marshfield man accused to plotting to kill doctors and nurses at a Madison Planned Parenthood Clinic is ordered to undergo a competency exam.
Monday, a judge in Dane County ruled that the federal exam will also determine whether Ralph Lang, 63, can stand trial in his state case. Lang is charged in state court with felony attempted homicide, and in federal court with a misdemeanor count of interfering with those providing reproductive services.
Lang was arrested May 25th at a Madison hotel after authorities say he accidentally fired a gun. He later told police his plan to shoot an abortion doctor and maybe some nurses.
